Lexan Thermoclear is a high quality, multi-wall polycarbonate glazing sheet extruded from Lexan resin. This product has thin wall tunnel rectangular structure, which may be an excellent candidate for vertical and curved applications. Also, it offers high impact strength, excellent light transmission, light weight, easy installation, long-term weather resistance, outstanding thermal insulation properties.

Ease of Installation

It can be easily cut on site using conventional tools and can be cold-formed into tight radii without pre-forming. Material wastage is minimal as the sheet will not crack or split when cut, sawed or drilled.

The multiwall construction traps air between the layers, which ensures outstanding thermal insulation performance.

In many cases these high performance polycarbonate sheet products may be recycled.

Exceptional Fire Performance

Lexan Thermoclear polycarbonate sheets are classed as self-extinguishing. Lexan Thermoclear sheets have an exceptional fire performance and importantly do not give off toxic gases. Lexan Thermoclear has been tested in many countries. In the UK it obtained the requirements of BS476 Part 7 and Part 6, Class 1 surface spread of flame.

Flexibility of Design

Lexan Thermoclear sheets can be cold bent and used in many curved applications e.g. arched walkways. Lexan Thermoclear must always be bent longitudinally, never across the width of the sheet.

In applications of this nature it is important not to place excessive tension on the sheet. Therefore when Lexan Thermoclear is cold curved the minimum radius should not be less than 150 times the thickness of the sheet i.e. 1200mm.

2 Sided UV Protection

Lexan Thermoclear is supplied with a protective film on both sides of the sheet. The proprietary surface treatment provides almost total resistance to degradation from UV radiation in sunlight, thereby helping to maintain long-term high light transmission.

PSP’s Lexan Thermoclear sheets carry a ten year limited guarantee against discoloration, loss of light transmission and loss of impact strength due to weathering.
